What’s new

  1. 0.8.3Mac and Windows

    New

    • A theme browser shows the free themes on markdownpoint.com. Open it with File > “Browse Themes…”, or with “Browse themes…” on the welcome and in the theme chooser. A theme’s page shows every slide of its example, and “Add theme” puts the theme in File > New.
    • “Add to MarkdownPoint” on a theme’s page on markdownpoint.com opens that page in MarkdownPoint.
    • Publish a presentation’s design as a theme with File > “Publish Theme…”. The presentation becomes the theme’s example, without its notes and comments. Publishing it again sends an update.
    • Rate a theme from one to five stars on its page. Rating and publishing need a MarkdownPoint account.
    • Start a presentation from Blank, which has nothing in it. It comes first among the welcome’s themes.
    • Help > “Report a Bug…” and “Request a Feature…” open the feedback board on markdownpoint.com. A bug report starts with the app’s version and system.

    Changed

    • MarkdownPoint comes with Blank, Basic and Professional. Motion, Lesson, Pitch deck and the other themes moved to markdownpoint.com. Add them with “Browse Themes…”. Presentations made with them open as before.
  2. 0.8.2Mac and Windows

    New

    • Take turns editing a presentation kept in a Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud Drive folder that others sync. Signed in with a free MarkdownPoint account, one person edits while everyone else follows along, and “Collaborate” shows who has it open, on which slide, and who is editing.
    • Choose “Request editing” to ask for the turn. The person editing sees a ten-second countdown and can choose “Keep editing” or “Hand over”; the turn passes with their last change saved.
    • Closing the presentation or signing out hands the turn back. Used alone, a presentation keeps its turn when it closes and hands it to the next person who opens it.
